Entain Plc has declared continued strides towards achieving its group-wide gender pay parity objectives, publishing its annual ‘Everyone’s in the Game’ – gender pay gap report.
The FTSE100 firm underlines its position as ‘the betting sector’s most inclusive employer’ achieving a median hourly pay gap of 7.1%, significantly lower than the UK’s national average of 15.5% for mass-market businesses.
Entain underlines, that group parity progress has been achieved across its Ladbrokes Coral retail estate business where 54% of its staff are women.
Further parity metrics saw Entain report that its median bonus gap was maintained at 13% as a result of delayed 2019 bonus payments for employees within its office and stadia units.
“At Entain we are committed to the development of our people and we are proud to announce that our median hourly pay gap is 7.1%, which, for another year, is lower than the national average of 15.5%,” commented Entain Group CEO, Jette Nygaard-Andersen.
Beyond statutory reporting, 2020 saw Entain launch four new directives aimed at achieving parity, improving group-wide inclusivity and boosting the firm’s talent development capabilities.
During 2020, Entain proactively expanded its external ‘women’s network’, seeking to drive employee recruitment through networking & referrals.
The directive saw Entain work with Linkedin ‘to proactively source female candidates from outside of our sector’ – an initiative helped by Entain’s new corporate charter and brand which received an 8% uplift in female applicants.
Focusing on attracting top female talent, Entain will launch an internal ‘succession planning tool’ to be launched in 2021, to ‘ensure gender parity is disclosed to all candidates.
2020, saw Entain complete its first ‘Horizon: Senior Women in Leadership Programme’ – a career development programme for 250 female industry executives with attendees provided mentoring on tackling global parity hurdles.
Further Horizon initiatives saw Entain focus on broader gender parity awareness and education directives, with the company launching a networking series hosting over 200 UK business leaders in a discussion on changing workforce dynamics and the nurturing of inclusive talent.
